French romantic composer, Hector Berlioz, was born in the year 1803 on the 11th of December. In addition to being a composer, he was also very influential as a music critic.
Chopin No, no!! Rachmaninov was the greatest pianist of his time (though no greater as such than Chopin) but he was the greater showman.
Sergei Rachmaninoff, a Russian-born pianist, composer, and conductor, was quite possibly one of the highest paid concert starts of the early 1900s. He was famous for his work in music, particularly "All-Night Vigil", and even just for his pianism in general.
