Chartreuse or Abbey du Mont-Dieu was founded in 12th century by the Benedictine monks. Reconverted into a prison after the French revolution it was then bought by the family (Henriot) of one of its prisoners at an auction. It is now merely a quarter of its original size and can be found in the Ardennes department in France.
