Lines of latitude, or parallels, run horizontally around the Earth (east-to-west or west-to-east).
North and South
No line of latitude is a north/south line. A move to the north or south is a change of latitude.
one direction
Latitude runs East & West - horizontal lines.Remember this:Longitude is "longitude" ("long" North & South)Latitude is "flatitude"("flat" East & West)
From left to right. Like the equator
The equator represents the zero degree line of latitude.
'Lines' of latitude remain where they are at and do not run. Since every point on the same parallel of latitude is at the same north or south latitude, the only directions left for it to extend in length are east and west.
If a map or a globe has latitude 'lines' printed on it, they will point east-west.
Latitude lines run from east to west, parallel to the equator. Longitudinal lines are perpendicular to latitude lines and run north to south.
Lines of latitude run east and west (like rungs on a ladder) and meridians (lines of longitude) run north and south
Latitude lines run east-west, but measure north and south. Longitude lines run north-south, but measure east and west.
Well one line of latitude is called the 'equator'.
