A Nightmare on Elm Street.
Robert Englund was cast as a sex crazed maniac in the film "Death Trap" and he is probably best known for acting the character "Freddy Kruger" in the film "Nightmare on Elm Street".
The Making of a Horror Film - 1984 was released on: USA: 2005 (DVD premiere)
New Nightmare
Robert Englund played Freddy in all of the previous films.
There are currently no plans for a new nightmare on elm street film with Robert Englund. I sure wish there was because I would like to see a new film instead of a remake but it doesn't look like one is forthcoming at the moment.
Robert Englund has played Freddy in every Nightmare on Elm Street movie (as well as the TV show), except for the new remake that is coming out soon (2010). In the new remake, Freddy is played by Jackie Earle Haley.Interestingly enough, Jackie Earle Haley auditioned for the role of Heather's boyfriend Glen in the original Nightmare on Elm Street (1984). Haley was a friend of Johnny Depp's (who ended up playing Glen), and he and Depp came in together to audition for the role.
The Haunting.
I am pretty sure Robert Englund does not get paid in salary. He gets paid per-movie he makes, how many hours he films, what he does on film, how many speaking lines he has. Which products he endorses. Endorsement payments from the continued sales of items/movies/voice samples etc..
In terms of box office numbers, the number 1 film in the UK in 1995 was Wes Craven's New Nightmare. The film starred Robert Englund as Freddy Krueger.
Robert Barton Englund (born June 6, 1947) is an American actor and voice-actor, best known for playing the fictional serial killer Freddy Krueger, in the Nightmare on Elm Street film series. He received a Saturn Award nomination for Best Supporting Actor for A Nightmare on Elm Street 3: Dream Warriors in 1987 and A Nightmare on Elm Street 4: The Dream Master in 1988. Despite his reputation for appearing in horror films, Englund is a classically trained actor, He's 62 years old this year.
There is only one Nightmare on Elm Street film where Robert Englund appeard without burn makeup on. It was Freddy's Dead and it was a flashback sequence to when before he was burned alive. We see him with his family and how he was a psycho killer even when he lived.
Horror is a genre onto itself. Thus a Horror film would be part of the Horror genre.
