ADTPTL is a protocol that is used during the Identify Hazards phase of composite risk management.
Anyone can become a non-union assistant director, meaning working on TV, film or internet based projects that are not covered by the entertainment industry unions. There is no requirement other than knowledge of the job, the willingness of someone to hire you and arguable the ability to get it done. To work as a UNION assistant director, the majority of all professional productions, one must be a member of the Director's Guild of America (DGA). Membership as an assistant director in the guild requires accumulating a certain number of work days as a production assistant (PA) or successfully completing the Assistant Director's Training Program (ADTP). The ADTP, or the DGA Training Program as it is also called, can be applied to on both the east and west coasts, and excepts a limited number of applicants each year.
