Bud has slept in the room of multiple hosts, including Ed and Barbara.
Bud ended up sleeping outside the library beneath the trees because he had nowhere else to go. He was homeless and searching for his father, and the library felt like a safe place for him to spend the night.

Herman E. Calloway was shocked and initially in denial at the idea that Bud was his grandson. He eventually comes to accept Bud as family and embraces their relationship, forming a close bond with him.
Bud's father is not entirely known but might've been one of Herman E. Calloway's drummers who ran away with Bud's mother.
When Todd's mother entered the room and saw the boys fighting in the book "Bud, Not Buddy," she promptly grabbed Todd by the ear and scolded him for being involved in the fight. She then scolded the other boy, Bud, for not fighting back and being beaten up.
In Chapter 15 of "Bud, Not Buddy," the protagonist, Bud, embarks on a journey to find his father, Herman E. Calloway. Along the way, he experiences challenges and meets new people who help him on his quest. Bud's determination and resilience drive the narrative in this chapter.
