Your question is too broad to answer.
Each church/denomination has its own position or opinion. They are different. You should ask each one.
Divorces obtained in other countries will generally be recognized by the United States as long as no person's rights were violated. This means that contested divorces may not be allowed unless the defendant spouse was notified and had a chance to respond. Uncontested divorces are generally recognized, however, and are often very easy to obtain.
At least 2,905 registered partnerships have been recorded in Finland as follows:446 in 2002 with 2 divorces;190 in 2003 with 6 divorces;186 in 2004 with 15 divorces;200 in 2005 with 31 divorces;191 in 2006 with 30 divorces;213 in 2007 with 67 divorces;249 in 2008 with 45 divorces;246 in 2009 with 53 divorces;322 in 2010 with 64 divorces;333 in 2011 with 85 divorces; and,329 in 2012 with 103 divorces.That's a total of 2,905 partnerships minus 501 divorces giving a net total of 2,404.
All divorces are (or can be) "expensive".

Out of country divorces are a little more complicated but the process is pretty much the same as any other divorce. Divorces obtained in other countries will generally be recognized by the United States as long as no person's rights were violated. This means that contested divorces may not be allowed unless the defendant spouse was notified and had a chance to respond. Uncontested divorces are generally recognized, however, and are often very easy to obtain.

There actually were a great number of divorces in the 1960's. This number however is still smaller than the number of divorces in the modern day.
