Tense Shift
Inappropriate changes would be called "problems with tense." Appropriate use of tense in a literary work involves maintaining the tense throughout the work. If you are writing in the present...verbs are in present tense; if writing in past tense, verbs will be in past tense, etc for future tense.
The future tense.
A helper verb is also called an auxiliary verb. It determines the mood or tense of another verb in a verb tense.
"Be" is the verb, ie to be. "May" changes the tense of the verb. Similar to "have been" or "will be".
Got up. Get up is a phrasal verb it has a verb + a preposition. To make the past tense the tenses of the verb changes the preposition does not change.
The word that changes a past tense verb into present tense is called an auxiliary verb. For example, "is" is an auxiliary verb used with the past tense verb "walked" to form the present tense "is walking."
The verb form of explosion is to explode.The present tense is explode, past tense is exploded, future is will explode. This is a regular verb and follows the normal changes to indicate tense.

Go is a weird verb. The past tense changes to a different word altogether. The past tense is "went".
"Has been" is a verb phrase that functions as the past perfect tense of the verb "to be." It can act as either the main verb in a sentence or as an auxiliary verb helping another main verb.
