Well, from my opinion Siberian Huskies are the most beautiful, smart, cute and the best dogs to own and live with. I even have one, a female, all white blue eyes, her name is Sasha.

Anyways, here are some ups and downs to owning a Siberian:

#1: ALWAYS, and I mean ALWAYS remember that Siberian Huskies have a thing that can't be treated and sometimes it gets in the way, they have a Separation Anxiety Disorder, and they DO sell books and magazines that can help a lot, and they do give a lot of tips on how to help it, for example, leave toys like balls, treats, rawhide, etc to help with the chewing and furniture. Every Siberian is different, some howl, some chew and some ( like mine) go insanely crazy. From my experience start off when they are puppies.

#2: Sometimes training can be difficult. Siberians can be stubborn and will rather play then train. I totally would recommend buying a book on Siberian Husky Training at your local pet store.

#3: Always have time to play and for your Siberian to get outside and play for at least an hour a day and to take a long walk and a few around the block 'cause Siberians love to run and play. Without the correct exercise they need they can get bored and become depressed. If you have a full time job and have no time to spend with your dog, then Siberians are not the right dog for you.

And finally #4:

Picking out your pup and where to buy, and diets, and also grooming. You should get your puppy from a breeder or a local animal shelter, depending on if you want a puppy or lets say an older dog from a animal shelter. If you get a breeder they can give you the information on what the puppy was fed/ or you can also get that information if you get your puppy from a pet store. I really don't recommend getting your puppy from a pet store because their puppies usually come from Puppy Mills. Make sure you get your puppy a proper lead and collar, and make sure that it has all your information and the puppies too, on the collar. Also get vitamins, treats and plenty of toys! There are lots to choose from. Also get your puppy a teething toy, they come in flavors, shapes that your puppy will love! You NEED to brush your Siberian once a day, I brush mine when we wake up and before we go to bed. Get your Siberian two good brushes. And only bathe your Siberian when needed.

I love having my Sasha around, and its a pleasure living with her, and I hope you get a Siberian Husky soon too! They are a bundle of fun and joy. And also BEFORE your Siberian to get books on them, this will help a lot.

From,

Shannon & Sasha
