The skeletal system consists of bones and joints.

The skeletal system serves many important functions. It provides shape and form for our bodies and it also provides the functions for our bodies. It supports and protects the body. The skeletal system allows bodily movement. It produces blood for the body. It also stores minerals.

The human skeletal system is made up of 206 bones. These bones are made of living tissues that store calcium and other minerals. They also make blood cells. Bones consists of cells surrounded by a matrix. This matrix consists of about 35 percent protein and about 65 percent mineral salts. This combination makes bone 5 times stronger than steel.
