There are six major regions in North America
Similarly, the Far North (when contrasted to the North}. The different climates of these two regions result in vastly different vegetation.
Temperate climates vary from location to location. Typically these are regions north or south of the equator, outside of the tropical zones. North America is a prime example of this, as it experiences very low temperatures in winter to very high temperatures in summer with copious amounts of rainfall.
Tropical climates occur in regions near the equator, typically between 5 degrees north and south latitude. These regions include parts of South and Central America, Africa, Southeast Asia, and northern Australia. Tropical climates are characterized by high temperatures and humidity throughout the year, with minimal seasonal variations.
The largest drainage basin in North America is the Gulf of Mexico.

Marine West Coast climate is unique to western coastal regions; whereas other temperarate climates are found inland. It is only found in small areas that are influenced by oceans and is very humid. Marine West Coast climate is found along the coasts of Oregon, Washington, British Columbia, and southern Alaska in North America, coastal Chile in South America, and along the coast of Europe, where it extends further inland due to the orientation of mountains. It is also found on the southeast coast of Australia and New Zealand.

The grizzly is a race of the brown bear, found in inland sections of North America. They usually do not grow as large as the brown bears of coastal regions of the northwest.
