Insert page number
To insert a page number on the Design tab in Microsoft Word, you can navigate to the "Insert" tab within the Ribbon, click on the "Page Number" drop-down menu, and then select the desired location for the page number (such as top of page or bottom of page). This will automatically add the page number to your document.

Go to your settings and then the design tab.
It is simply called "Insert Page Number" and the icon usually resides in the "Header & Footer" section, just like in the "Insert" tab. In the "Design" tab you have more options available, of course, such as performing certain actions only on certain pages (first page only, odd & even pages differently, etc.). If you would like to know more information, or this doesn't cover what you were wanting to know, then you may have to elaborate on your question a little. Cheers.
To add another page in Microsoft Word, you can simply press "Ctrl + Enter" on your keyboard, which inserts a page break. Alternatively, you can go to the "Insert" tab in the ribbon and click on "Blank Page." This will create a new page at the current cursor location.
If you are talking about background, go to 'page layout' menu and select 'background'. On newer versions it is in the Page Background group in the Design tab on the Ribbon.
In Microsoft Word, the "Insert" tab contains commands to insert various page parts, such as headers, footers, page numbers, and text boxes. Additionally, the "Design" tab allows users to add borders and page backgrounds. Together, these tabs provide tools for enhancing the layout and design of a document.
You can setup margins, size, orientation, number of columns, page breaks..
To select a page border in Microsoft Word, you need to go to the "Design" tab. From there, click on "Page Borders" in the "Page Background" group. This will open the Borders and Shading dialog box, allowing you to customize and apply borders to your document's pages.
To add borders or shading in a document using the Ribbon tab, first select the text or page you want to modify. Then, go to the "Design" tab for page borders or the "Home" tab for text shading. Click on "Page Borders" to set borders for the entire page, or use the "Shading" dropdown in the Paragraph section to apply color to the selected text. Adjust your choices as needed in the dialog boxes that appear.
To suppress page numbers on the first page of a report, you typically use the "Header & Footer" tab in word processing software such as Microsoft Word. Within this tab, you'll find an option to check "Different First Page," which allows you to remove or modify the page number specifically for the first page while keeping it on subsequent pages.
To make the first page of a document different from the subsequent pages in Microsoft Word, go to the "Insert" tab and select "Page Number" to add page numbers, then choose "Different First Page" in the "Header & Footer Tools" design tab. This allows you to customize the header and footer on the first page without affecting the rest of the document. You can also format the first page's layout separately by using section breaks if further differentiation is needed.
