Lava collects inside a Magma Chamber. "When an erupting volcano empties a shallow-level magma chamber, the edifice of the volcano may collapse into the voided reservoir, thus forming a steep, bowl-shaped depression called a caldera" (Quoted from How Volcanoes Work at http:/wwwzperiodzgeologyzperiodzsdsuzperiodzedu/how_volcanoes_work/Calderaszperiodzhtml)

Magma
If you're referring to the scientific term, magma collects in magma chambers.

Chamber
Do you mean the hole it comes out of the ground through? That is a volcano. More likely, you mean the hole made when the lava starts to cool and the liquid part inside can suddenly run out. That is a lava tube.
Magma is molten or partially molten rock beneath the earth's surface. A magma chamber is a space, often beneath a volcano, where magma collects.

Molten rock collects in a magma chamber beneath the volcano.
Lava is when it's outside the volcano, magma is when it's inside of the volcano.
Magma chamber.
Pocket of magma beneath the surface
Magma can be classified in the two ways. When it is inside the volcano it is called magma, but when it is out of the volcano, it's then called lava.

Magma is inside of the volcano and has molten rock in it. To where lava is outside the volcano and does not have as much molten rock in it as Magma does.

Magma occurrs by rocks melting inside a volcano
