Not advisable as the gear ratios whether auto or manual are different between the SL1 and SL2. All the mounting etc is the same but the ratios are different. With an automatic the PCM may "have an issue" with the differing ratio ie. expecting to see a different input/outut speed at a certain rpm.
do a 99 Saturn sl2 have a transmission pan gasket
yes, been there done that works beautifully get the trans rebuilt while its out of the car itll make it much nicer ride especially if its a standard
ya
Depends on the year, engine, and tranny type. Not all with interchange
if it is anything like my 97' Saturn Sl2. The engine must be dropped out to dismount the transmission.
1996
Nothing will.Only a 97 will work in a 97.Trust me,I have been there twice.Salvage yards will say the same.
NO won't work. The wiring harness for the transmission on the 90 model will not hook up to the 97 4L60E transmission. And the ECM / computor on the 90 model will no operate the 97 electronic transmission. You can NOT use anything newer then a 1991
NO it will not work. There is ONLY 2 years that will interchange with the 97 year truck. That is a 1997 and 1996 4L60E transmission.
yes that is my question
NO. You must stay under the year of 99 and it must be a 4L60E transmission.
Yes it will bolt up, but it will not shift. The computer in the 89 model is not programed to make the 97 transmission work. You will have nothing but problems. And the 89 don't have the wiring harness for the 97 trans.
