Bolivia is a country in the heart of South America. The Andes Mountains run along its western third, which is why most people mistakenly call it an Andean country, although only 28% of its territory is Andean. The remaining territory is covered in tropical forests, valleys, and dry forest, as well as some deserts in the Southeastern Chaco region.

Its three major population groups are the Aymara, the Quechua and the Guarani. The main language spoken by almost all of its 10 million people is Spanish, although now that the new national constitution was passed in 2009 Spanish and ALL native languages spoken in the country are official languages. Although it is said that about 60% of Bolivia's population is indigenous, the great majority of the population is actually mestizo (mixed indigenous and Spanish, or any other mix of races, nationalities or ancestries).

Bolivia's main industries are agriculture, oil and gas, and tourism and hospitality.
