Ayame is a wolf demon who Koga saved when she was a little girl. He promised to marry her sometime when she came to see him. So when she does come, he's totally forgotten about her and is in love with Kagome. Ayame is extremely jealous, and refuses to give Koga up. She's really persistent and headstrong.

It's a matter of personal opinion, but in the last episode (Episode 26: Toward Tomorrow) of Inuyasha: Kanketsuhen(Inuyasha: The Final Act in English), Koga is shown to have married Ayame, while Kagome and Inuyasha marry. If you are talking about Inuyasha, then watch episode 83. She becomes depressed when Koga (The wolf boy) doesn't remember when he promised Ayame he would marry her. She then becomes frustrated but tries to convince Koga to remember. Although she is not shown in the manga.

It's kind of an obvious question, yes Koga DOES love Kagome. He says it so many times that you will eventually realize that be basically says it all the time. Yes, Koga did make a promise to Ayame, but that was before he met Kagome
