Is Sylvan really worth the cost or are there better alternatives?
We just got the pricing details for Sylvan, and it’s definitely a bit of an investment. I’m open to spending if it’s really going to help, but I’m wondering if there are other options that might work just as well (and maybe at a better price). I’d love to hear from parents who’ve used Sylvan, Mathnasium, or even online programs like Beestar. What worked best for your kids?
Sylvan and Mathnasium both have good tutoring setups, but the in-person part can be tricky with all the driving, and the cost adds up fast. Tutoring quality can also vary depending on the tutor. We’ve tried Beestar at home too. Their exercises are pretty solid and keep my kid actually engaged, without the hassle of going anywhere.

You may, or may not, find something to help, but at least you have a chance to find something before you do something that cannot be undone. If your surgeon recommended a hip replacement, there really is only a slim chance that anything else may help without, but it's worth a shot.

An LED Television is not really worth the price increase in my opinion. Sure the picture quality is better and it's HD, but if you are happy with a decent television, then there is no need to pay a lot for a TV.
