Is there a single word you use to refer to a region's climate plus topography and flora-fauna?

Updated: 11/19/2022

In the NW we have mountains, fir trees, cold lakes, wet weather, very green. The SE is a whole different package. What is the word that captures all that together, rather than having to list each? Environment seems to broad. Habitat... too specific. Biome.... too scientific. Maybe i'm searching for a word that doesn't exist.

Sure, but I didn't mean a unique word for each region. What's the general term? Maybe it is "environment", but for me that word, in this context, speaks more about the mood and social vibe than the natural surroundings and climate.

Does climate change affect thunderstorms?

While no single event can be attributed to climate change, thunderstorms as a whole are affected. From a simplistic standpoint, higher temperatures and increased evaporation means more energy is available for thunderstorms and they will become more frequent and potentially more severe. In reality both climate and weather are immensely complex. Some regions can expect to see more thunderstorm activity and some can expect less. In some areas storms may become more severe or less severe.
