PURE gold is almost never used in jewelry- too soft. Pure gold is 24 Karat. Jewelry is typically 10-16K. Gold filled is an outer jacket of gold, with an inner filling of base metal (non gold). It might be marked at 16K GF, or GFE. Free advice- meet the seller at a jeweler or pawn shop of YOUR choosing, and ask THEM what it is worth. Impossible for us to appraise something at long distance.
