There are indeed genuine 14K gold pieces coming out of China, however, like all stamps it can be faked and so if you are unsure you could have it tested by a jeweler and he would tell you for sure. But yes, I've handled genuine gold and genuine silver stamped China (along with the purity) and I've also seen fake gold and silver stamped Italy and other western countries too.
