Yeah, if you're not going for ivies its phenomenal. If you are going for ivies it is good enough, but keep in mind there are several other aspects they are going to be looking at, and there are tons of other applicants with 2100+ SAT scores.
It depends which colleges you are looking at.
The score is not outstanding however you will be able to get into the majority of public colleges. As for private schools you would be at the bottom end of the ladder. For example the IVY schools accept very few students who score under 2100. Anything over 2000 is a descent score in my opinion.
It is a fairly decent score, it will get you into most colleges however it is not spectacular and you should definetly take the test again since you can easily increase that score to a 1900 or above.
Average score is 1540, best possible score is 2400, so 2040 is above average but not considered great.
The national average for the new SAT is 1500. The highest or perfect score is 2400. So yes, that is a great score. Of course you can always improve that score by taking the test again.
It is definitely on the lower end of the Ivy League scales however if you have other good credential you have a good chance of getting in. A 2250 or above is a more realistic score.
I should think so, because it means that you scored higher than 96% of the total amount of people who took the test.
Depends. In general it's awesome but if you're applying to an Ivy League school a 2140 is pitiful. They want nothing less than you knowing someone from there, perfect GPA and all AP expected.
Good, but not good enough to get you into any Ivy League schools.
yea! im 12 and mine was 1320...gosh that's like a 760 point difference. Altleast my essay was an average score
The SAT is comprised of 3 sections: Math, Writing (Essay), and Critical Reading. Each of these 3 sections can score a maximum of 800 points. These three scores are added to make the maximum SAT score 2400. According to Harvard's acceptance statistics, they accept students with SAT scores in the range of 2080 - 2370. That should give you a decent measurement of what a *really* good SAT score is.
I got accepted into the studio art program at NYU with a 2080 so yes I would agree that that score is good enough, however, there are many many other factors that are considered. I have friends with lower SAT scores that have been admitted without declaring a major and so depending on your GPA and which college you apply to at NYU, I would say that score is pretty good.
For most colleges and universities 1400 SAT score is considered a good score for admissions.
there is no such score. it is up to 2400
lax
For the old SAT, a 1270 SAT score is on the low end of the spectrum. The average SAT score is around 1500. For the New SAT, out of 1600 the score would be significantly better. This score using the new test corresponds to a 1780 in the old SAT out of 2400.
No
no. it is the worst grade
its binghamton university chief. and your gonna need a good sat score. I'd say a 1900+
You don't know how to use punctuation so your SAT score probably isn't going to do you much good in life.
If you are talking about credit score, understand that I am not a credit expert, but since a credit score of 620 is bad, 215 would be a terrible credit score. If this is for a test like the SAT, this is also horrible. The average score of the SAT is about 500, and even that isn't that good of a score.
