December 25th was the traditional birthdate for the sun gods, and was not adopted for the birthday of Jesus until the fourth century. Before that decision, there was no known birthdate for Jesus.
the 25th of decmber is not in fact the birth date of jesus and was origanlly a celebration of each coming harvest on the roman calander. as slaves did not have any rights in those times jesus was celebrated on this day instead when he was in fact born a few days before.this is because they could not appeal to have a day to celebrate. also as he was considered the new king appealing in this way would have most likely got him killed even earlier.
Almost certainly it was not. Even the year is not known.
...um, yeah. Bud? Christmas is celebrated BECAUSE of the birth of Christ. That is what Christmas IS. Although recent historical evidence suggests he may not have even been born on December 25th.
because Jesus was born in December
The Birth of Jesus - 1909 was released on: USA: 24 December 1909
25 december
Technically we can yes but most of us choose not to. We don't believe Jesus Christ was born on this day. There is evidence that he was born sometime during the Spring time though the exact date is not for certain. Still, millions of professed Christians around the globe celebrate the birth of Jesus on December 25. This date, however, appears nowhere in the Bible. Although the Bible does not give a specific date for Jesus' birth, it does provide evidence that he was not born in December. Also, from secular evidence we can learn why December 25 was adopted as the date for celebrating his birth. We do believe his birth was very important but we don't believe in this holiday for many reasons and do not find it fitting to honor him in such a way that is what the memorial is for.
No one did it was when 'Jesus' was apparently born and to celebrate the birth of 'Jesus'
Actually the correct date is not known.
The exact birthdate of Jesus is not known with certainty. Christmas, celebrated on December 25th, is the day chosen by Christians to commemorate the birth of Jesus, although historical evidence suggests that his actual birth may have occurred in the spring.
No. The gospel accounts of Jesus' birth do no mention any season.
December 25 - Christmas.
Christmas (December 25th), is the date that Christians celebrate the birth of Jesus, so basically there would not be a Christmas without Jesus' birth, hence why he is a symbol for the Holiday.
Probably. There is a lot of evidence that would support a September birth.
