The book of Mark is the second book in the new testament.
The Bible does not have a 2nd and 3rd book of John, but there are three short epistles ascribed to John in the New Testament: 1 John, 2 John, and 3 John. These books are located towards the end of the New Testament, after the Gospel of John.
The 2nd book of Samuel is in the Old Testament before the 1st and 2nd book of Kings. Also, of course the 2nd book of Samuel is after the 1st book of Samuel, and the 1st book of Samuel is after the book of Ruth.
The Revelation of Jesus ChristUsually this book is just called Revelation.
The center of the New Testament is considered to be the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ, which is a pivotal event in Christian belief. This event is central to the teachings and salvation message of Christianity.

The shortest "book" in any version of the Bible is Psalm 117 with only 2 verses if you define each Psalm as a book. It can be argued whether each Psalm is a book or the entire collection of Psalms is a single book. If the latter then Psalm 117 would be considered a chapter of the book of Psalms. Psalms aside, there are some small books in both the Old Testament and New Testament. 3rd John has the fewest words in the Bible and is, therefore, the shortest. 2nd John has the fewest verses. Obadiah is the shortest book in the Old Testament, by both the number of words and verses. Obadiah has only 21 verses.
The smallest book of the Old Testament is the book of Obadiah having only 1 chapter with 669 words in the King James Version (KJV). But note that this book was part of a single book called "The Twelve" for the 12 books of the minor prophets in the original Hebrew Bible so such counts really depend on which Bible you're using. The number of words also vary depending on the translation and language.
Peter wrote the book of 1Peter and 2 Peter.
The Gospels are the books of Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John. They are the first four books of the New Testament.
