Depends who you ask, I smoke 10 joints a day, so compared to me, not excessive at all, lol!
It has CV joints which are similar to Universal Joints.

In Australia, Clause 7.20.8 of AS 1418.1-2002 limits gaps to 3 mm. When installing rails, the ambient temperature needs to be considered. For a temperature range of 5 to 40 degrees C, install with joints closed at 40 C and with 3 mm gaps at 5 C. For heavy duty runway systems, rails should be welded, but this requires careful attention to detail. In some cases, bevelled joints are used instead. Excessive gaps can have significant effects on the fatigue life of heavy duty runways. However, they can also have significant effects on accelerating the utilisation of DWP (Design Working Period) for all cranes. John Loiterton
Their joints are restricted, so around 5 or 6, given they walk sideways
A hinge joint is a type of joint

If there is inflammation of 2-4 joints it is oligoarthritis, if it is 5 or more then it is polyarthritis. Inflammation of more than one joint, especially if it is in similar joints on opposite sides of the body, can be an indicator of rheumatoid arthritis. However there are over a hundred different forms of arthritis and the best way to find out which is causing the problem is to be examined by a rheumatologist.
There are actually six different types of joints: * Hinge * Pivot * Saddle * Ellipsoidal * Ball and socket * Gliding

Simply put, there are nine (9) interphalangeal joints in the hand. The hand consists of 5 digits numbered 1-5 from thumb to "pinkie". Digit 1 (thumb) has two phalanges one called the proximal phalanx and another called the distal phalanx. So, there is one interphalangeal joint between the proximal and distal phalanges of the thumb. Digits 2-5 each has three phalanges a proximal phalanx, a middle phalanx and a distal phalanx. So, each digit has 2 interphalangeal joints.
