Why can you feel tired after sleep?

Apparently, too much sleep is just bad for your body as not enough sleep. You'll notive that if you over-sleep you wake up feeling groggy and unenergized. 8 hours of sleep is considered healthy for most adults. Your body can't "catch up" on sleep, so sleeping for 12 hours one night because you only got 4 hours of sleep the night before won't work. You'll have lost out on two nights of healthy sleep because you under-slept one night and over-slept the other!

Yes, that counts as enough sleep. Your body probably needs 7-9 hours of sleep each night. If this is in the vacation it sounds like pretty normal teenage behaviour. Just make sure his body clock is back to school hours well before he goes back to school.
