Is 8 ounces of alcohol too much in a night?
That's a few drinks. Your ok if not driving & it is not a nightly routine.
That is HIGHLY dependent on your mass and on your metabolism. Some people are more susceptible to the effects of alcohol, while others burn it off more quickly. And your body mass is a big factor, too; a man who weighs twice as much can probably handle twice as much alcohol before becoming intoxicated. Remember that word, "inTOXICated". Alcohol is a poison; too much can have nasty effects, and a lot too much can kill.
This is an incomplete sentence, there is no subject. Did I have too much to drink last night? Did you have too much to drink last night? Did they have too much to drink last night? How much was too much to drink last night? Was the wine too much to drink last night? The subjects to these sentences are I, you, they, how much, and wine.
Alcohol can kill you. Alcohol is actually a poison. If you drink too much, it can overload your liver. The liver processes the alcohol and expels it through the body. Another way it can kill you is if your passed out, and laying on your back, you can vomit and that can choke/suffocate you. Yes, from alcohol poisoning. Too much of a good thing, eh? XD
All alcohols are poisonous. In fact, everything is poisonous, even water. If you drink too much water, you will suffer water poisoning. If you drink too much alcohol, you will suffer alcohol poisoning. The problem then becomes how much alcohol is too much. There are too many variables to consider to provide a solution. Weight of the drinker, alcohol by volume of the beverage, length of time between drinks, and food intake are just some…
"Generally, moderate alcohol consumption (say, 30-40g/d) is associated with decreases in mortality." You'll find different measures from different sources, but I've read that about 6 "servings" of alcohol in a week is safe.....a serving being 1.5 ounces of hard liquor (vodka, etc.), 5 ounces of wine and 12 ounces of beer. There are people who say a glass of wine a day is great for you as well. The thing is, if you suspect you're…
