A real AI would indeed be an autonomous,intelligent agent.SO it is out of control. Also it won't share our motives,constraints,ethics,etc. Also there is no obvious upper bound on intelligence. Therefore AI research is unethical.

But we can insert ethics into AI. This can be done by the use of Asimov's Law Of Robotics. The 3 laws are:

1. A robot may not injure a human being or through in action allow a human being to come to them

2. A robot must obey the orders given to it by the human beings.

3. A robot must protect its own existence.
