API grade refers to the classification of crude oil and other petroleum products based on their specific gravity, as measured by the American Petroleum Institute (API). The API gravity scale indicates how light or heavy a crude oil is: higher API gravity means lighter oil, while lower values indicate heavier oil. This classification helps in assessing the oil's quality, potential uses, and economic value in the market.
A 35 degree API oil refers to crude oil with an American Petroleum Institute (API) gravity of 35 degrees, indicating its density relative to water. Oil with a higher API gravity is generally lighter and less dense, which typically makes it easier to refine and more valuable. A 35 API oil is considered a medium to light crude oil, often used in various refining processes to produce fuels and other petroleum products.
No harm will come from topping off the oil level with a different brand. All oil manufacturers use a similar oil additive package. I would stick to one quality brand of oil. More important is using the designate API grade and viscosity.
I have this engine in a 2003 XL; have the owners manual as well - 5W 30 oil, 6 Qts when changing the fuild and filter. Make sure you are using the correct API rated oil as well ... the API rating has changed through-out the years...I think we are up to SN. You can use SN in an older car; however, you cannot use the older API (say SH) in a newer car...
Manual trans. API GL-4 SAE75W90W or 80W90W gear oil Differential API GL-5 SAE 80W90W hypoid gear oil Transfer case API GL-4 or GL-5 SAE80W or 90W gear oil
In cold weather 5W30, 10W30 for warmer weather and make sure that It has the API badge saying it meets current SM standards.
All major brands meet API standards. Look on the bottle and it will state this.
The 2003 Toyota Echo typically uses 5W-30 motor oil for optimal performance. It is important to check the owner's manual for specific recommendations, as some regions may have different temperature considerations. Always use oil that meets the API certification standards for best results.
For a 2003 Honda XR70, it is recommended to use 10W-40 or 10W-30 motor oil, which provides the necessary lubrication for optimal engine performance. Always check the owner's manual for specific recommendations and ensure that the oil meets the appropriate API service classification. Regular oil changes will help maintain the engine's longevity and efficiency.
The 2003 Mazda MPV typically requires 5W-30 engine oil for optimal performance. It's recommended to use a high-quality, API-certified oil to ensure proper lubrication and engine protection. Always refer to the owner's manual for specific guidelines and recommendations related to oil change intervals and specifications.
For a 2003 Yamaha Blaster, the recommended transmission oil is a high-quality gear oil with a viscosity of 80W-90. It’s essential to use oil that meets API GL-4 specifications to ensure proper lubrication and protection of the transmission components. Always check the owner's manual for specific recommendations and maintenance guidelines.
