Answer
The word good is not a realistic comparison when discussing software and other issues about technology. AVG and McAfee are software designed to detect malware (malicious software that performs a destructive or unwanted change on you computer). When I used AVG i found that it was heavy on system resources, was very slow and often times failed to detect a lot of the malware. This is not to say that McAfee would serve you well. McAfee has a decent reputation in the security world. However, they do not offer a free product but you can download a trial version. Personally, I do not recommend either of these two programs. I have Avast Free Antivirus installed on all my computers. You can download it here

I never tried these programs before (except McAffe at Cedar Grove). McAffe gave these computers viruses so they would constantly restart. I would not recommend McAffe. I would much likely recommend Avast.
It is called McAfee, not McAfree. I believe AVG is better than McAfee, but it depends on your personal preference.
My Choice is AVG
AVG - free or premium Norton anti virus Mcafee (i think) i use AVG and it seems good also make sure you have firewall enabled
Avast! and Microsoft Security Essentials are both good programs. Avoid AVG, Norton, and McAfee.
i would recommend that you donwload the avg side toolbar. or mcafee site advisor.. i would recommend that you donwload the avg side toolbar. or mcafee site advisor..
The difference between McAfee and AVG on paper are hard to see the differences. It really comes to what fits your computer usage needs and which one adapts best to you.
Unlike AVG, McAfee will not install adware and other unwanted programs or features to your computer, because their money comes from customers like you instead of advertisers. Similarly, there is a well-paid, always working staff supporting the weekly updates made to McAfee's virus database while AVG may tend to lag behind in thei definitions as they play catch up with the rest of the market.
Mcafee is the standard by which all others are measures. You can also get great security from AVG.
Both are popular in the antivirus world. Depends on how was your experience with it...
Six different brands include: McAfee, Norton, Windows Defender, Avast, AVG, and Kaspersky.
Supposedly the best is Norton. I honestly prefer McAfee. It's free, and works fine for my computer's protection. Some others include AVG. It's all based on preference really.
Norton Antivirus, Kaspersky, AVG, are all rated among the top in antivirus software. McAfee and BitDefender have also received many good customer reviews.
McAfee, AVG, Windows Defender and Advanced WindowsCare are all excellent virus scanning/elimination tools.
