The word good is not a realistic comparison when discussing software and other issues about technology. AVG and McAfee are software designed to detect malware (malicious software that performs a destructive or unwanted change on you computer). When I used AVG i found that it was heavy on system resources, was very slow and often times failed to detect a lot of the malware. This is not to say that McAfee would serve you well. McAfee has a decent reputation in the security world. However, they do not offer a free product but you can download a trial version. Personally, I do not recommend either of these two programs. I have Avast Free Antivirus installed on all my computers. You can download it here

∙ 12y agoI never tried these programs before (except McAffe at Cedar Grove). McAffe gave these computers viruses so they would constantly restart. I would not recommend McAffe. I would much likely recommend Avast.

∙ 13y agoIt is called McAfee, not McAfree. I believe AVG is better than McAfee, but it depends on your personal preference.
