no. Advil is ibuprofen. Ibuprofen is sold under the trade names: Motrin and Advil. It is a NSAID drug, meaning it has antiinflammatory effects. Acetaminophen is Tylenol. Many OTC drugs contain acetaminophen( for example Excedrin is a combination drug of acetaminophen and aspirin(an NSAID)), but it does not decrease inflammation. It works by inhibiting prostaglandins, which cause us to feel pain.
