You misunderstand between Ionic & Molecular.
A molecule can be either an ionic molecule or a covalent molecule.
A molecule is a given substance. Ionic/Covalent is the type of bonding with in that molecule.
'Agi' Never heard of it. If you mean 'AgI'. (silver iodide). Then it is an ionically bonded molecule.
Ag^(+) + I^(-) = AgI(s)
NB Single letter elemental symbols are always a CAPITAL letter. Iodine/Iodide is 'I' NOT 'i'.
BO is a molecular compound because it is composed of nonmetals (boron and oxygen) and forms covalent bonds.
Cr is a transition metal element, specifically chromium. It is not considered ionic or molecular on its own.
H2O is a molecular compound.
AgNO3(aq) + KI(aq) = KNO3(aq) + AgI(s) This is a classic test for halogens, and AgI precipitates down as a yellow solid.
Cr2O3 is an ionic compound. It consists of chromium ions (Cr3+) and oxide ions (O2-) held together by ionic bonds.
No, AgI is a binary ionic compound. Silver (Ag) is a metal, and iodine (I) is a nonmetal. Metals and nonmetals form ionic bonds.
