It really does depend on the type of Marie Osmond Doll -- the highest end Marie Osmond dolls are porcelain and less "playable". The American Girl dolls are resin and therefore while similar in price, probably more durable. The lower-priced Marie Osmond dolls are (my opinion) lower quality that the American Girls.
