Ammonia has a very strong odor. It will deter rodents, including mice and rats. It is a more natural deterrent than poisons.
Yes ammonia can do that. It is toxic for rats.
Rats and mice would know that a ferret is around by their scent.
Rats communicate in various ways, including scent marking using urine. So female rats will attract males. Also, a good home for rats will attract more rats. Many people will say that if there are rats, there are seldom mice in the same place - which is true to a point - rats will eat mice.
Neither. Like mice and rats, they are rodents, but they are only distantly related to mice and rats.
mice like cheese. rats dont.
Mice and Rats are rodents.
Lots of things. But please don't use poison. Find any other way but don't harm they be vermin but they are creatures and they don't really carry diseases anymore. Also, if you are discussing a garage or outside building, good old fashioned cats are really the best deterrent. Not just them catching the rats but their scent also tends to make the mouse and rat vacate.
