Bruce Wayne took Richard Grayson as his ward, essentially his stepson. While Grayson was under Bruce's wing, he trained to be Robin. Grayson and Wayne had a large disagreement and Grayson quit being Robin. Grayson moved to Bludhaven and took the mantle of Nightwing to fight crime. Bruce is the biological father of the latest Robin, Damien Wayne.
No he doesn't have wings
his wings is to help him get to the places faster.
Batman
Batman is supposed to be a very strong and athletic human being. But he is human. Humans don't have wings. It's not like he's Superman. OK Superman doesn't have wings either, but he can fly. For those who aren't sure Batman isn't "real". I suppose his inventor could have given him wings, but he didn't. I don't watch Batman movies, so I'm not an expert.
batman doesn't die

At night.
NO, Batman does not swim. Because if he was indeed a "bat" man, bats are unable to swim because of the structure of their wings.
On Leather Wings, 1992
Batman does come out only at night, but on occasion he would still be out when the sun comes up.
