Answer Yes, Bethany is very much a creditable school, incorporated under the laws of Alabama, and licensed by the Alabama State Department of Education. The school was founded in 1973 and moved to Dothan, Alabama in 1982. At that time, the school's name was changed to Bethany. The school is Baptist in identification but is trans-denominational in its student body. It is not affiliated with the Church of the Brethren, or Bethany Theological Seminary.

The person who issued the above rebuttal doesn't know what he or she is talking about. ATS and ABHC are NOT the only bible college and seminary accrediting bodies. The Distance Education Accrediting Commission and The Transnational Association of Christian Colleges and Schools are two other schools that accredit bible colleges and seminaries. Additionally, Bethany is NOT a degree or diploma mill and its degree ARE accepted by major denominations. I know for a fact that some Quaker, Lutheran, Congregational, Baptist, and Christian churches have hired pastors with Bethany degrees.
