It can, if they dont eat. a diabetic can consume alcohol but they must be careful. If a diabetic (I am a 17 year old diabetic) consumes alcohol, there glucose/blood sugar levels will drop. It's almost like insulin. The most alcohol a diabetic should consume is one or two beers. They should also eat something with carbohydrates so that there blood sugar level doesn't drop. If your going to have hard liquor, go easy. Take a few sips of a friends drink. Don't have much. And never, never, never, get yourself drunk. When you are drunk you wont know if your glucose level is low or high. It would probably go low and you would pass out. If every one else is intoxicated they probably can't help you. They probably wouldn't even know. If you going to a party, go easy. Stay sober. Bring a friend who will stay sober with you. It's also a good thing to have someone sober...encase things get out of hand. Hope this helped. :)
