It will be effective for a period of time, depending on how severe the bleeding is. As first responders, we won't know how severe the bleeding is, so we continue CPR until EMS arrives to take over.

It only takes 1 person to perform CPR. An advanced CPR course can be taken to train you on 2-person CPR, which makes it easier and more productive than 1 person CPR.
Can CPR be done if a person has a mechanical heart valve?
Yes you can perform CPR on a person with an artificial heart valve. There is no difference on the CPR procedure with an artificial valve.
Can you perform CPR with heart attack?

Follow the basic principles of caring for an injured person; call 911 or local emergency number, maintain open airway, perform CPR if required, control major bleeding, have someone assist if available.
Will there be any side effects to the person who CPR was preformed on even if he got pulse and respiration?
If you perform CPR on a person who is breathing and has a pulse, you would decrease the effectiveness of their own breaths & heart pumps. If a person is breathing and has a good pulse, during the check you should be able to determine the person has signs of life. In fact, if you try to perform CPR, they may resist. If the person is barley breathing and you do not determine they are breathing, better to perform CPR if in question because if the breathing is that faint, it will only be a short amount of time before they loose signs of life. The probability of a side affect of performing CPR with faint signs of life is small.

Yes you can perform CPR on persons with pacemakers. Follow the same procedure.
