In a deleted scene of The Incredible Hulk, it shows Bruce Banner trying to commit suicide in the antarctic. Just as he is about to shoot himself, the Hulk comes out of him causing a giant avalanche. As the layers of snow slowly crumble down, you can briefly see a human figure lying in the snow along with a circular object. Those things are meant to be a frozen Captain America with his shield.
