Yes you can. You need to get an SD card and put the music files on there. If you have itunes, you can click on each of the music files and select "create AAC version" and then move the AAC files to your SD card.
AAC. I made a simple instrumental music piece and exported it to mp3@96 (iTunes codec I know you're bad), AAC@96 and ALAC. I know iTunes is bad but yeah I did. I heard a lot of warble in MP3, AAC just sounded like ALAC with some treble cut off and that's it.
Just download the music, but it must be in AAC files.
MPEG-4 is a multimedia container format that can include various types of audio and video codecs, whereas AAC (Advanced Audio Codec) is one specific audio codec often used within MPEG-4 files. Therefore, while AAC music can be found within MPEG-4 files, not all MPEG-4 music is AAC; it may also use other audio codecs. Essentially, AAC is a type of audio compression used in some MPEG-4 files, but the two terms are not synonymous.

It depends on the encoder you're using. Nero AAC, iTunes AAC, and Lame MP3 are all top-notch encoders so it's hard to tell which sounds better. However, AAC is more "efficient", because it can reach transparency at a lower bitrate.
It takes up less space then MP3 and it supposedly is better quality then MP3. When you buy something from the iTunes store, they're music is in AAC format.
