simpliy put, bad
Here is the way I look at any brand of electronics, whether DVD, MP3, TV, stereo, or otherwise. If you found a Widget brand DVD player, but have never heard of them in your life, are they any good? You know of Panasonic, Samsung, Sony, RCA, and many others, because they have been around a long time and have a reputation. There is likely a reason you have never heard of the generic brand.
Some people will say they are made in the same factory as name brand. This is often true. However, specifications, quality of the parts used, and quality control is not even close to the same. There is a reason the lesser known brands sell much cheaper. It's because cheaper parts are used, and there is little or no quality assurance. Why would you pay for that? Because you are spending your hard earned money on a product that you want to last. When cheap parts are used, and the product is not thoroughly tested, it sells for less because you didn't pay for all of that quality.
There are times when a cheap, generic, no name product will last many years and a known brand will die early, but that is seldom the case.
Bottom line, you get what you pay for.
So is Coby a good brand? I would say for budget, not expecting much, it is probably alright, but I would save a little more money and buy a better quality brand. Coby is not known for high end products. They are economy. Nothing wrong with that. All depends on your budget and expectations.
yes very good. probably better than vizio pioneer toshiba sanyo sansui panasonic sharp and emerson and all those bad companies
Very strange answer. Actually, several of those companies listed above are significantly better. Coby is a budget manufacturer. I've been in the technology field for over 30 years, and have never known any serious person to buy Coby. They will pay more for quality. Coby is not high end and certainly not high quality.
It is better than nothing, and for the price it will probably give you what you paid for it in performance, but not much more. There is a reason it is cheaper than brands like Pioneer and Panasonic.
Would I buy it? No. Would I recommend it? If that is your budget, yes, but if you can afford more, absolutely not.
So far so good for me :)
