Probably. The correct spelling is per diem meaning by the day. There is no Latin word or English spelt dium. Probably a spelling error - but there is a Latin word 'dium'. It's an adjective, meaning 'divine, divinely inspired, blessed.'

What does medium mean in french?

Médium

What does dium mean in English or is it being confused with diem?

Diem is used in several English phrases and means "day." Most notably carpe diem (seize the day) and per diem (per day).Dium is probably some form of the word "god."Dium is the proto European root of the word diem it means sky or heavenly sky. Which is how it is the root of both "god" and "day".

What would you name a new element?

I would give it an obscure name that no one living in the UK/USA could pronounce, meaning they'd need to change the name to something different. Otherwise, give it your name + a normalic ending, -dium as an example.

What is the French 'oïdium' in English?

"Powdery mildew"is an English equivalent of "oïdium" (Erysiphelas order). The French word is a masculine noun. Its singular definite article is "l"* ("the"). Its singular indefinite article is "un" ("a, one").The pronunciation is "loh-ee-dyoom."*The masculine singular definite article actually is "le." But the vowel "e" drops before a noun that begins with a vowel. The temporary nature of that drop is indicated by an apostrophe.

What are Three functions of the electrode covering in manual metal arc mma welding?

3 FEATURES OF FLUX CORED ELECTRODES Flux cored electrodes combine the advantages of several of the welding processes we have discussed earlier. As with coated electrodes, the flux improves the weld metal chemi- cal composition and mechanical properties. As in gas metal arc welding and submerged arc welding, productivity is increased because the electrode is continuous. 7.3.0.1 Flux cored electrodes may be used for welding carbon steels, low alloy high strength steels, and the high strength quenched and tempered steels. They are also used for welding stainless steels and abrasion resistant steels. These will be covered in subse- quent lessons. 7.3.1 Functions of the Flux Ingredients - As with coated ingredients, each manufac- turer has his own formulas for the flux ingredients. The composition of the flux core can be varied to provide electrodes for specific applications. 7.3.1.1 The basic functions of the flux ingredients are: a) Deoxidizers and Denitrifiers - Since nitrogen and oxygen can cause porosity or brittleness, deoxidizers such as manganese and silicon are added. In the case of self-shielded electrodes, denitrifiers such as aluminum are added. Both help to purify the weld metal. b) Slag Formers - Slag formers such as oxides of calcium, potassium, silicon or so- dium are added to protect the molten weld puddle from the atmosphere. The slag aids in improving the weld bead shape and "fast freezing" slags help hold the weld puddle for out-of-position welding. The slag also retards the cooling rate, especially important when welding the low alloy steels. c) Arc Stabilizers - Elements, such as potassium and sodium, help produce a smooth arc and reduce spatter. d) Alloying Elements - Alloying elements, such as molybdenum, chromium, carbon, manganese, nickel, and vanadium, are used to increase strength, ductility, hardness and toughness. e) Gasifiers - Minerals, such as fluorspar and limestone, are usually used to form a shielding gas in the self-shielded type wires.

How much money does an gulfstream aircraft mechanics earn?

That is a broad statement. I am an aircraft mechanic and I have worked for 3 different places in my career so far. It totally depends on what you are doing for starters. Most places will start a mechanic with low experience out at around 12 to 16 bucks an hour depending. After you get a little experience you can contract for quick money and bring home about a 1000 bucks a week on about 60 hours. You have to plan for your own retirement in that situation as a downer. It is a good temporary start. Most contracts are 18 - 20 an hour with per dium and that is how you come out at the 1000 bucks a week. You can check aviationjobs.com to browse the different pay rates for different contracts in different places. After you get 3 - 6 years experience you should be aiming toward getting a job with one of the majors. These days FedEx, Ups, Southwest are the only decent places to work. Jet Blue is okay but not near as competitive. After a few short years at one of these and you will be at 40 bucks an hour at least and have pension/benefits/etc. to go along with it. Hopefully aviation will turn around and more opportunities will present itself but in the meantime knowledge is power. You gotta be better than the next guy as interviews become harder and harder with the massive availability of mechanics in the system now. Good Luck.... Corporate aviation is another route that has the potential to make as much or more than contracting. If you make it to a manger position at a larger corporate flight department you can likely make 100k+. Also, due to the high average age of aircraft mechanics, there is likely to be a shortage of mechanics in the future due to the baby boomers retiring.
