But Dorothy fears the Wicked Witch of the West. For she witnesses the Witch's cruelty. Glinda the Good Witch gives Dorothy the Slippers of the Wicked Witch of the East. The Wicked Witch of the West wants the Slippers, and will do anything to get them. Dorothy realizes this, and keeps up a brave front in the face of a fearsome foe.

∙ 14y agoAccording to the original 1900 book edition, and the beloved 1939 film version, of 'The Wizard of Oz', the Wicked Witch of the West feared water. But decades later, in 1995, Gregory Maguire [b. June 9, 1954] wrote and had published 'Wicked: The Life and Times of the Wicked Witch of the West'. From that book came the play 'Wicked', in 2003, under the influence of Stephen Lawrence Schwartz [b. March 6, 1948]. So according to the most recent, updated information, Elphaba Thropp pretended to fear water. She wanted to end her life as the Wicked Witch of the West and start anew, outside of Oz, with her loving Prince Fiyero.

No of course not they were sisters! Perhaps a sibling like hate but in the end the wicked witch of the west (elphaba) was mournful over her sister. (This is based on the musical and book not the wizard of oz movie.)

All she wanted to do was protect the animals that the wizard was capturing and mutating.
