Fox News is run by Republicans/Conservatives, and is well-known as the unofficial media arm of the Republican party. However, it should be said that its newscasts, featuring such anchors as Shep Smith and Bret Baier, are widely praised for being fair to the facts. But the Fox commentators are in fact mostly Republican partisans who promote conservative perspectives on the issues of the day.

Another perspective:

Fox News tends to point out short-comings in the liberal agenda more often than not; however this is because they believe liberals cause the most problems. They're not conservative, they just don't filter their stories or balance their attention like other news groups do and so the majority of the stories will naturally sound anti-liberal to the tender ear.

Another perspective:

FOX is owned by business mogul Rupert Murdoch, who uses the station to promote a conservative Republican agenda. Contrary to popular belief, FOX does not offer a balanced perspective -- their views are extremely anti-liberal. The broadcaster has been taken to court because they provide false and twisted information, but the courts upheld their right to distort the truth under the First Amendment.

MSNBC Why do you have such Liberal Bias that hides actual truth and deceive your Liberal veiwers?

One could ask the same thing of Fox News and its conservative viewers. Fox news speaks the truth and MSNBC speaks deception. Anyone who actually listens to conservative policies know that they work best in gov. I'm not sure, i guess they're just idiots. - first comment made by a different commenter (most likely a liberal)

Is 60 minutes a conservative news broadcasting?

no its actually more liberal

Is Fox News conservative?

It all depends on who runs the company. Despite what ANY news source tells you, it's going to have its bias's. Of course Fox News Channel's prime time line-up is conservative. It's no secret, they'll tell you they are. Glenn Beck, Bill O'Reilly, Hannity, etc. will all tell you that they are conservative and their shows are simply commentaries on the news that is portrayed in the media. So of course their views are bias. What people have to understand is that there are some shows on Fox News that are conservative opinion shows while others try to be "fair & balanced," mainly the ones where they actually report the news, such as "America's News Headquarters" and "The Special Report." To get back to your original question, one can only speculate. I would surmise that it has a much more conservative line-up then any other news channel because the other seven network news companies all have liberal commentary shows with Fox being the only channel featuring conservative view points out of the eight major news networks. The logic probably is if everyone else is liberal, let's go the other way and be conservative. Afterall, News Corp. CEO Rupert Murdoch (parent company of Fox News) actually endorsed Barack Obama during the 2008 United States presidential election. With the mainstream news media so obviously left-wing-biased, it makes good business sense to offer the alternative to a major, conservative market.

Does FOX news have conservative anchors?

FOX News is generally regarded as a conservative, pro-Republican television network. While some of their news anchors (Shep Smith, Chris Wallace and Bret Baier, for example) are known for being fair and not very ideological, their evening commentators like Bill O'Reilly and Sean Hannity, and their weekday morning program "Fox and Friends" are identifiably conservative and often promote Republican causes or disseminate Republican talking points. It should be noted, however, that even on Fox, some commentators are more conservative than others, with Bill O'Reilly at times being more libertarian than conservative. Fox does have an occasional liberal (usually a centrist Democrat) as a panelist or guest, and sometimes news anchors invite Democratic politicians on the air for interviews. But in general, the vast majority of what is on Fox News conforms to a pro-Republican set of ideas and principles.

Is Fox news mainstream media?

Conservative politicians and Fox News themselves often talk about the "Mainstream Media" distorting facts withy a liberal bias. Being the largest news channel (by viewers) in the country, and on pretty much every basic cable package one can get, Fox News is very much part of the mainstream media. It falls completely in the conservative side of reporting, with even their more moderate shows still very right wing. Its heavy lean is why people sometimes consider them a "niche" media rather than mainstream.
