France has no special ties, like treaties or the like, with Israel.

France is home of the third-largest Jewish community in the world, but has conducted since 1958 and the general de Gaulle tenure of power, what it calls a "balanced policy" towards Israel. That led for instance, to France's voicing its concern about the settlements in the occupied territories. In France's diplomatic language, Israel is an ally, but that would not go as far as agreeing with making Palestinans or its neighbours miserable.
