Captains? Even the Generals can be hard to count up! And the post-war memoirs were notorious for faking of troop-numbers.
We call our General, Captain. Each team has a Captain. He, in our hearts is beyond the rank of Admiral or general. Generals are in the Army, Marine Corp and Air Force. We dont have Generals. Usually our captains are Lt Commanders. We call them captain because they lead our crews.

Answer: No, I don't believe he did. All he did was exactly what all the other generals in the war were doing, and that was defending his home and family. The generals in the north would have done the same thing if they were southerners and vice versa.

There were more than six hundred Yankee generals, and about 425 Confederates - too many to try to list here. There is a book, Ezra Warner's "Generals in Gray" which has a short biography of each of the 425 Confederate generals. I think somebody since has done the same for the Union generals.
The Union and Confederate army marched to get to all of their battles including the Battle at Gettysburg the only people that didn't march were the generals, captains and colonels the important people only the troops marched
There are two major generals named Anderson. Several brigadier generals have the same last name. There is more than one general named Davis, Gregg, Garnett, Johnson, Johnston, Jackson, Lee, Smith and possibly others.
