Christians believe he is really present, in this universe and in you. It is in The Bible in John 1:1. You live in this earth and all the universe in the beginning was the Word/(spirit). He especially died on the cross and wanted to tell you that God really is present. As soon as you repent and accept the Holy Spirit and deny the flesh ....that is the God present. Knowing God is present can come from reading about Jesus Christ from the Gospels, especially from John and learn only words that come from Jesus.
