No. Henderson is actually a good place to raise a family, but just like anywhere else, it does depend on the neighborhood you pick to live in. The housing is much cheaper than it is in California (Which is why most people you meet in Henderson moved from California). The weather is hot and dry so that might be a little bother to some people from the more humid and cool states (or countries)
Many family centers and some good schools around.
I grew up in Henderson Nevada so I hope this inside view helps. (:
