Peter the Great had many brothers but the most notable one was his half-brother, Ivan who ruled with him co-jointly as co-Tsar. He was older than Peter by about six years.

Ivan the Terrible was more of a psychopath, ruling with extreme violence, whereas Peter the Great had more of a purpose for Russia in mind during his reign.
