derek and jason lancaster who isn't in the band anymore.
In 2007. I'm pretty sure Derek still had something to do with Mayday Parade while Jason was the lead singer, but he took over completely when Lancaster left.
Jason Lancaster.
Derek Sanders sings all of the songs in Mayday Parade. Originally there were two lead singers, Derek and Jason Lancaster. But Jason quit the band after A Lesson In Romantics was released. On their newest record all of the songs are performed by Derek with background vocals from both Jake Bundrick and Jeremy Lenzo.
Jason Lancaster was facing the death of his father, and his ideals about settling down with his new wife Katie. (Yes, Miserable At Best's Katie) [They are now divorced] He wasn't ready to push the new album, or tour either. Although Jason was an amazing part of Mayday Parade, he has gone on to create his own music and band, Go Radio. Mayday Parade has also grown and developed without him. As a good fan, supporting both bands is an important aspect of their continued strides in the music industry. Although there is some controversy about being second vocals, and second string to Derek Sanders, It was widely known that the members were extremely close, and the loss of Jason Lancaster was devastating for all those involved, including the fans who miss the beautiful music they created together.
No. Jason Lancaster and Derek Sanders were both original members of the band. But just after their first CD, A Lesson In Romantics, came out Jason quit the band. Derek Sanders still sings his original parts and some of Jason's. But Jeremy Lenzo and Jake Bundrick have taken over most of his parts.
Derek Sanders does the lead vocals and he always has. Additionally, Jake Bundrick, the drummer, does backing vocals now, and all band members do the gang vocals. Jason Lancaster used to be another vocalist in Mayday Parade, in Lesson In Romantics and Tales Told By Dead Friends, but he quit and was not involved in Anywhere But Here or the self-titled album. The song When I Get Home You're So Dead from Lesson In Romantics features Jason as the lead singer, not Derek. They also did dual vocals on many songs in Lesson In Romantics. Jamie All Over is the perfect example of that. Derek sings the first couple lines, and then Jason does the next pair, and so on.
that's wrong.they actually ALL write them. In fact they're writing a new album now WITHOUT Jason.
All Time Low, We Are The In Crowd, Go Radio (especially because an old Mayday member - Jason Lancaster - now fronts this one), Every Avenue, Neon Trees, Artist Vs. Poet, You Me At Six, the Maine, We The Kings, A Rocket To The Moon, Simple Plan...
