Shelley uses "The Mortal Immortal" to question the true nature of immortality and to contemplate the limitations of human existence in the face of eternal life.
Nobody is immortal, our bodies will eventually die. But our souls are immortal, not only Christians but everyone. If you choose the right path, you will reach heaven where you will be immortal and live forever praising God. But if you commit mortal sins (Sins that are serious, that you know the full consequences, but you still do it on purpose) and do not repent, you choose the wrong path and you will be immortal in hell where you live for ever in torture.
The only way a human being can come or be 'oriented' to Jesus Christ is by God drawing him, as Jesus said himself: "No man can come to me, except the Father which hath sent me draw him: and I will raise him up at the last day." (Jn.6.44) If you have a desire to be oriented to Jesus Christ, the desire has been put there by God - it is God drawing you to Jesus Christ.
He was born of a virgin and his father was God, that makes him both human and God.
Christians believe that Jesus was and is Christ from the beginning of time. Unlike a human being becoming a Bodhisattva, Christians believe there is and only has been one Christ.
Christians believe that the Scriptures clearly teach that every human being is created in the image of God and redeemed by Jesus Christ.
